All New Sunday Evening Services In Benson!

A small group of us had been meeting on Friday evenings in the barn at the River Basin Ranch in Benson. This became known as "River Of Faith Cowboy Church". This church resulted in quite a few souls being saved and a few baptisms as well. We praise God for this!
After much prayer we have decided to make this beautiful setting become the place for our Sunday Evening Services. We want to invite absolutely everyone to come out every Sunday at 6:00 PM for an evening of worship, live music and a powerful message from Pastor Brian.

The River Of Faith Cowboy Church at The River Basin Ranch is just off of Astronomers Lane next to the observatory. Come enjoy the beautiful surroundings and Great
Fellowship at 6:00 PM on Sundays.

Worship Cowboy Style!
Pull on your boots and grab your Bible!  It’s time to worship Cowboy Style. There’s a new church in town, and it is a bit different than your grandma’s church. It’s The Cowboy Church.

The Sierra Vista Cowboy Church
is sure to raise a few eyebrows with their “cowboy casual” method of worship.
Instead of suits, ties and wing tipped shoes; they wear blue jeans, big belt buckles and cowboy boots.  Instead of a fancy baptism pool, theCowboy Church baptizes their converts in a horse trough!

Brian Kelly is the founder of the Sierra Vista Cowboy Church. His partnership with the Cowboy Church Ministries of Arizona (CCMA), Cochise Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of Arizona and the North American Mission Board enables him to train and equip others to plant cowboy churches throughout Southern Arizona.  His mission is to impact the cowboy culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ by planting cowboy churches in every county.

Kelly said, “At first glance some folks will think we have watered down the gospel to draw a crowd but nothing could be further from the truth.  We preach a very clear gospel message, one the common man can understand.

The Bible is our statement of faith, and bringing hope to a lost world is our goal.”  Kelly continues, “The Cowboy Church uses a different method, but the message is the same old story of Jesus and His love.” With a dust on your boots attitude.

What Is A Cowboy Church? By Brian Kelly

Cowboy Churches have been around as long as there have been cowboys, especially in the West.  The cowboy has been known for his values, honesty, integrity and “hard work with a dust on your boots” attitude.

For the better part of this country’s history, it was those same values that this country was built upon.  It’s these John Wayne type values on which the cowboy church is based.

Although Cowboy Churches are open to everybody, the main focus is reaching out to the working cowboy and his family, ranch hands, rodeo contestants, ranchers, those folks involved with the rural life or those whose heart’s desire to be part of rural
America or be around those folk who are “rural America”.  This culture has been mostly forgotten in our churches today.

Cowboy Churches are a “come as you are” green stuff on your boots and all church.  They reach out to those folk who have chores to do on Sunday Morning who may not have time to get cleaned up after

chores for church.

Most Cowboy Churches do not have fancy buildings and elaborate facilities in which to meet.  Their church setting is hay barns, feed lots, roping arenas, livestock sale barns and tents.  The music is usually Country Gospel with a live band when possible.

Cowboy Churches focus on praising the Lord in a family setting. The Cowboy Churches’ message is simple:  “Gospel with a dust on your boot attitude”.  Many of the services hold ranch and rodeo events before and after the church service for those folk who have horses and also for those who don’t have horses.  Events for all ages are available.  Cowboy Churches are biblically based and culturally relevant to the rural culture.
